How we define spiritual leadership determines how we do spiritual leadership!
Consider Jesus the Servant – Leader as Described Over 700 Years Prior to His Birth In Isaiah 42:1-4. Note how well this description complements the above description.
- Dependence (42:1) – “Behold My servant, whom I uphold”
- Approval (vs 1) – “My chosen, in whom My soul delights”
- Spiritual (vs 1) – I have put My spirit in him
- Humble (vs 2-3) – “he will not cry aloud or lift up his voice . . . a bruised reed he will not break . . . a faintly burning wick he will not quench”
- God-Honoring Judgment (vs 2-3) – faithfully and fairly judges
- Optimistic Trust (vs 4) – “He will not grow faint or be discouraged”
- Purposeful (1, 3, 4) – till he has established “justice”
