Making That Little Extra Effort

Making That Little Extra Effort

Our Gospel Meeting – a special effort with Hiram Kemp – is just around the corner (September 12-14). We can be very confident that Hiram will do a great job proclaiming the gospel of Christ. This effort is a special opportunity for those of us at Westside to make that little extra effort. After all, sometimes it’s important to have an “extra push” to stretch ourselves in praying, inviting others and scheduling more time assembling with others to worship and praise our great God.

But why? Why not just have a “business as usual” approach? After all, most of us would say our lives are already plenty busy. WHY is it wise to schedule these special series? WHY make that little extra effort?

This Special Opportunity will be an Occasion for Revival. Spiritual batteries will be charged and reenergized and we will be motivated to greater love and zeal. Hiram’s preaching of the gospel will fill us with hope and refresh our hearts with God’s grace and glory (1 Peter 5:10-12). This is an opportunity to get Fired Up!

This Special Opportunity will be a Time for Evangelism. It’s a great time to invite a friend or coworker to Westside. Our desire to simply be Christians, along with the desire to biblically and simply worship God and to care for one another CAN be very appealing. Let’s plant good seed, knowing that God will bless! This is an opportunity to Speak Up!

This Special Opportunity will be a Great Time of Worship / Praise. Together we will express love and thanks to God. We will attempt to get across what none can perfectly and completely convey – the preciousness and worth of God! This is an opportunity to Lift Him Up. This Special Opportunity will be a Great Occasion for Edification. We are commending others to God and to the word of His grace – and that’s able to build them and us up! (Acts 20:32). So many are broken and hurting. This is a beautiful opportunity to Build Up and To Strengthen.

I think this upcoming opportunity is too good to pass up on, don’t you?
