The Location of God’s Blessings

The Location of God’s Blessings

God is a God who blesses! He knows how to give good gifts and
provides for the cares we all need in life. God allows His sun to
rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the just and the
unjust (Matthew 5:45). He is a good who blesses all people with
physical needs because He is gracious and kind (James 1:17).
However, Ephesians 1:3, tells us that spiritual blessings are only
found in one location, “In Christ.” Consider examples of God
locating blessings throughout the Bible.

When the flood came, where was salvation to be found? Only
in the ark that was built by Noah. 1 Peter 3:20, “…when once
the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the
ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls,
were saved through water.”

When the messenger of death passed through the land of
Egypt, where was salvation to be found? Salvation was located
only in the homes sprinkled with blood and had occupants who
had carefully obeyed the commands of God (Exodus 12:1-30).

When the Syrian commander, Naaman, was desiring to be
healed of the terrible disease of leprosy, where was his
salvation located? It was only in the Jordan River after dipping
seven times according to the word of God’s prophet (2 Kings
5:10-14).

Jesus and His disciples passed by a man who was blind from
birth and Jesus would make clay with His salvia and anointed
the eyes of the blind man. Where was his salvation located? It
was in the pool of Siloam and his washing there, according to
the command of Jesus, brought him the ability to see (John 9:1-
12).

Of course, the examples found throughout the Scriptures are
endless of places that people found their ‘salvation’ to be
located. By way of application, salvation from sin (the ability to
be saved and prepared to meet God in judgment) is only
located in Jesus (Galatians 3:26-27). To be located in Jesus is to
be located in His church (Ephesians 5:23). If you want the
blessing of being saved, you must get into that location! (Acts
2:47)
